Tourism is now central to the development ambitions of the Congo, as formalized by President Denis Sassou Nguesso. The Congo hopes to attract investor support to this sector, which has become strategic, with the goal of reaching 101.3 trillion of GDP within six years.

To wean the Congolese economy off its dependence on oil, the Congolese government has included tourism among the six pillars of the National Development Plan (PND, 2022-2026), alongside agriculture and digital technology. Tourism serves as a catalyst to accelerate the growth of other sectors such as transportation, hospitality, and handicrafts.

Serving as a transshipment hub in the Central African sub-region, the port of Pointe-Noire welcomed its first cruise ship in early April 2023, carrying 150 tourists of various nationalities. Since obtaining its concession in 2009, the French Bolloré Group has invested heavily in its modernization. The port can accommodate cargo ships up to 300 meters long, carrying up to 15,000 containers. The port of Pointe-Noire is the ocean gateway to Central Africa. It is the largest port in Central Africa, but from a tourism perspective, much remains to be done.

The hotel offering has expanded and diversified considerably. In Brazzaville, the Grand Hotel de Kintélé is a 5-star establishment within the International Conference Center located on the northern outskirts of the capital. The Grand Lancaster, the Radisson Blu, the Olympic Palace, the Ramada, and the Mikhael's offer the level of comfort required by business travelers and have sufficiently spacious meeting rooms that can accommodate dozens of people from Africa, Europe, the United States, and Asia. Pointe-Noire, the country's second-largest city, also boasts a range of hotels and conference facilities, with acoustic and security conditions that ensure the smooth running of business meetings.

Ollombo, with its magnificent Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace, also offers all the conditions for business and congress tourism.

THE NEW BRAZZAVILLE BUSINESS CENTER
Located in the Mpila district, on the banks of the Congo River, this shopping center, the result of a joint venture with China, consists of two twin towers of thirty floors each for a total cost of 174 billion FCFA (289 million dollars).
The first tower will house a five-star hotel with 349 rooms, including 20 presidential suites, conference and communication rooms, and other amenities meeting the required standards. The second tower will primarily consist of offices housing public and private services, and its administrative concentration is expected to impact the business sector and contribute to improving the competitiveness of the national economy by streamlining foreign trade procedures.
